Lumdung, 3 October 2026: A Legal Awareness Programmewas organised at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Lumdung, by the East Kameng District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Arunachal Pradesh, on 3rd October 2026. The programme was conducted after the third period and was attended by all the students and members of the school community.
The programme commenced at 11:30 a.m. with an invocation presented by the students, followed by the felicitation of the distinguished guests. Swami Sarvagananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Lumdung, delivered the welcome address.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri Damge Niri, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, East Kameng. The programme subsequently focused on important legal provisions relevant to students and young people. Adv. Atung Gyadi, LAC, spoke on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, highlighting the importance of awareness regarding substance abuse and the legal consequences associated with narcotic and psychotropic substances.
This was followed by a session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, conducted by Sri Tage Hally, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Pakke-Kessang. The session helped draw attention to the importance of protecting children and understanding the legal framework designed for their safety and protection.
The programme concluded with avote of thanks delivered by Sri Gautam Kr. Mondal, Teacher, Ramakrishna Mission, Lumdung.
The Legal Awareness Programme provided the students with an important opportunity to learn about their legal rights, responsibilities, and the laws relating to issues that directly affect young people. The students participated in the programme with attentiveness and discipline, making the event meaningful and informative.
