Swami Vijnananandaji Maharaj was a Civil Engineer working in Uttarpradesh when Swami Vivekananda came back from America. He used to come to Dakshineswar and was an ardent disciple of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna. Later when he met Swami Vivekananda, he decided to become a monk. He was the architect of the all time great temple of Sri Ramakrishna at Belur Math, Howrah. He was a technical person and the vocational training centre therefore is named after Swami Vijnanananda.
